READ THE PLATFORMS, AND THEN DECIDE!

If you are eager to share your faith, or just your choice for President, you risk disagreement or worse. Our differences, anymore, really boil down to politics, religion and a self-created animosity fueled by fake-news agitators. I am reminded of 1 Peter 3:14: "Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good, but if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed."

Once upon a time, Democrats and Republicans worked together. They compromised for the greater good of society, and the media was fair and balanced. Now, media has chosen sides, and the political parties have moved to opposite corners with distinctly different values. As a result, when you know the written beliefs each actually holds, it becomes easy to pick one over the other.

Of course, the key question here begs, how are their written principles defined: Are they God-Biblical-Values or Man-Society-Values? To live in our world today, you have to decide and align yourself with one of the two.

Do you believe in God? If so, then you are saying you believe in the Bible and the Author of creation whose very nature sets His Divine Law. If you reject His Divinity, by default you accept someone else's standard for society. Laws then become human enterprises open to interpretation by anyone's agenda. Personally, I see only one of those two options where the Law is laid down and unmovable, as compared to the "law," spelled with a little "l," that is subject to change at the whim of whomever takes power.

Have you read the parties' positions? Folks, before you align yourself with people, don't you want to know them? The same holds true for both the Democrats and the Republicans. Find out their true histories, read their platforms, dig deep into what they want to do with our county. I have been both Democrat and Republican. Along the way, I found Jesus, and my eyes were opened to see one of the parties simply does not square, based solely on its own words.

Noah's Ark Encounter Opens in Kentucky

 

 

"This marvel of engineering is seven stories tall and is a football field and a half long. It is the largest timber frame structure in the world, full of world-class exhibits designed to answer your questions about the biblical account of Noah’s Ark."

The Ark Encounter, opening phase one on July 7, 2016, is a one-of-a-kind, historically themed attraction. In an entertaining, educational, and immersive way, it presents a number of historical events centered on Noah’s Ark as recorded in the Bible. As the largest timber-frame structure in the US, the 510-foot-long full-size Ark is designed to be family-oriented, historically authentic, and environmentally friendly. Additional phases will be added over the years.

The Ark Encounter, as sister attraction of the popular Creation Museum, is a Christian evangelistic outreach intended to bring the Ark of Noah’s day to life. Located in Williamstown, Kentucky (south of Cincinnati and 40 miles from the Creation Museum), the Ark equips visitors to understand the reality of the events that are recorded in the book of Genesis:

• The global Flood did happen as an act of God’s judgment.
• Noah and his family really did build a ship of the same size and dimensions as written in Genesis 6.
• All of the animals brought by God to Noah did fit inside the Ark.
• Noah and his family could care for all of the animals while they were on the Ark.
• The Flood of Noah’s day was a worldwide catastrophic event that resulted in large-scale human and animal death, leaving behind many of the plant and animal fossils and landforms we see today.
• God saved Noah and his family and the animals on the Ark, just as He had promised.

The Ark Encounter takes advantage of the latest environmental technologies to be good stewards of creation. Additional future phases for the attraction include a pre-Flood walled city, the Tower of Babel, a first-century village, a journey in history from Abraham to the parting of the Red Sea, a walk-through aviary, an expanded petting zoo, and other attractions that uphold the truth of God’s Word.

Living A Life With Moral Courage

Never before in history was one human being so universally acknowledged in his lifetime as the embodiment of magnanimity and reconciliation as Nelson Mandela was.

He set aside the bitterness of enduring 27 years in apartheid prisons — and the weight of centuries of colonial division, subjugation and repression — to personify the spirit and practice of ubuntu. He perfectly understood that people are dependent on other people in order for individuals and society to prosper.

That was his dream for South Africa, and the hope that he represented the world over. If it was possible in South Africa, it was possible in Ireland, it was possible in Bosnia and Rwanda, it was possible in Colombia, it is possible in Israel and Palestine.

Of course, in the spirit of ubuntu, Madiba was quick to point out that he alone could not take credit for the many accolades that came his way; that he was surrounded by people of integrity who were brighter and more youthful than himself.

That is only partially true.

The truth is that the 27 years Madiba spent in the belly of the apartheid beast deepened his compassion and capacity to empathize with others. On top of the lessons about leadership and culture to which he was exposed growing up, and his developing a voice for young people in anti-apartheid politics, prison seemed to add an understanding of the human condition.

Like a most precious diamond honed deep beneath the surface of the earth, the Madiba who emerged from prison in January 1990 was virtually flawless.

Instead of calling for his pound of flesh, he proclaimed the message of forgiveness and reconciliation, inspiring others by his example to extraordinary acts of nobility of spirit.
